Welcome to our New Year / Grammy issue of Avatar Studio’s electronic
newsletter, AVATAR TRACKSHEETS. We recently purchased an XM satellite
radio receiver. After listening to it, we feel that this is part of
the future of how consumers will get their music. It does to radio
what cable TV did to network TV - provide more variety & choices. With
so much music being programmed, it brings back the joy of listening to
music and discovering new artists again. 2004 is going to be the year
where we begin to get back to basics.
1. 46th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARD NOMINEES RECORDED AT AVATAR
=> The 46th Annual GRAMMY Award nominees were announced on December
4th. Avatar Studios would like to congratulate all the nominees. This
year, there were nine nominees who recorded their works at Avatar.
Check out who they were at www.avatarstudios.net. The winners will be
announced at the awards ceremony televised (8PM on CBS) from Los
Angeles on February 8, 2004.
2. CREATIVE COMMUNITY NEWS
=> Roy Hendrickson Appointed Avatar’s Chief Engineer
Roy Hendrickson was appointed Avatar Studio’s Chief Engineer. His

quality service for your sessions.
Roy is already a resident of Avatar’s recording complex with his own
mixing room, Studio R, on the 4th floor. That is where he recently
mixed Cheap Trick’s DVD, featuring live concert footage mixed in
surround, on his Yamaha DM2000 console. He has previously worked on
5.1 surround mixes for Philippe Saisse and Cassandra Wilson. Roy, with
his 23 years of experience, is available for your surround mixing
needs. For more details, contact

3. "HALL OF FAME" PHOTO
=> In this issue, we feature the photo of NORAH JONES who recorded her
highly anticipated follow up album, "Feels Like Home" at Avatar. The
new album will be released on February 10th. Over eight songs from the
album were recorded at Avatar’s Studio C. The New York Times recently
did an in-depth article about her in its Sunday Magazine on January
25th. We wish her well. Check out the photos from their Avatar
