-----------------------------------------------------------

When things are busy, time flies and it has been non-stop for us for the past year. Now that the 2006 AES Conference is over and we have time to take a breather, we wanted to share with you what we have been up to these past few months.

1. NEWLY RENOVATED STUDIO E REOPENS

We are happy to announce the reopening of Studio E, our new and improved Pro Tools Suite. The size of the room is a comfortable 200 square feet and the walls are finished with the Power Station pine & burlap treatment that gives it the log cabin feel. The room was designed by Roy Hendrickson, our Chief Engineer.

Located on the 3rd floor at Avatar Studios, Studio E offers clients another option to do pre-production work, mixing or editing at an affordable rate. In the near future, we will add a dedicated iso- booth for use by Studio E. Take a peek at the room at http:// www.avatarstudios.net/rooms/studio_e.html.

Currently, we have a SSL AWS-900+ Analogue Workstation System in the room tied to a Pro Tools HD2 Accel system running Pro Tools 7.2 on a PowerMac G5. Among other plug-ins, it has the Waves Gold bundle and Waves Vocal bundle.

The room features a HD-ready 37-inch flat panel LCD TV that can be used to display Pro Tools or any video content associated with your project. For a complete list of outboard gear that comes standard with the room, please visit the Studio E page on Avatar’s Web site.

The room comes equipped with L-707 Lipinski high-resolution studio monitors on powered stands, which provide accurate playback of mixes. It is part of a turnkey Surround system available from Lipinski Sound that can be set up for mixing for films and post- production work upon request.

The room is furnished with Planet Waves cables including patch cables, XLR cables, MIDI cables, AES/EBU cables, Firewire and USB cables. Planet Waves cables offers a full line of instrument, microphone, speakers, data and signal cables and connectors designed for the professional and amateur. Patented compression springs hold plugs firmly in the jack and ensure a positive connection, and rugged over-molded plugs provide extra protection with unmatched strain relief while the Planet Waves double shielding keeps signals strong and true.

We invite you to come listen to the room and try out the SSL AWS-900+ console. Check out the room at http://www.avatarstudios.net/rooms/ studio_e.html. For more information, call Tino at (212) 765-7500 or email him at mailto:Tino@AvatarStudios.net?subject=StudioE.
